generate funds through the collection of unwanted mobile phones
Can you imagine an easy, fast and free way to generate funds for your charity or community group – now you can! Community Fonebak is a free environmental scheme to help charities and community groups raise funds by recycling unwanted mobile phones, phones that might otherwise end up in landfill sites damaging the environment.

phones make money and prizes!
For each phone that can be resold you will receive £4 cash or a £5 Dixons Stores Group voucher (to be spent in Dixons, Currys, The Link or PC World). The scheme is an ideal way for charities and community groups to raise money or collect vouchers for essential items.

Community Fonebak is open to any organisation* in the UK or Ireland, including registered charities, schools, scout troops, and sports clubs. To join you just need to have a bank account with two signatories.

The scheme is a joint initiative between The Link, the UK’s leading high street mobile phone retailer and Fonebak, the world’s leading mobile phone re-use and recycling company (www.fonebak.com).
it's easy to take part!
All you have to do is fill out the registration form. We will send you a pack containing everything you need to run a successful collection campaign. All we ask is that you read this website carefully and make sure you are committed to running the scheme. We care about the environment so we don’t want to waste material.

what's in the pack?

In your collection starter pack you will find:

• 30 recycling bags for collecting individual phones
• Two posters to publicise the collection
• A user guide. Details of payment and frequently asked questions will also be included
• A flyer

New members are required to collect a minimum of 30 unwanted mobile phones prior to us sending out a lockable plastic container with security tags and a cardboard sleeve to place over the container (complete with instructions for assembly).

In the Media Centre you will find lots of ideas, photographs, illustrations and more to help make your campaign even more successful.

Once you have confirmed you have collected 30 mobile phones and returned them to us, we will send you your container and cardboard sleeve to put them in and you can continue with your collection.
