Fonebak.com provides a safe, efficient and rewarding way to recycle your mobile phone, PDA, MP3/4 or other electronic devices. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before you agree to proceed. You should print and keep a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference.
When you confirm that you will send your device to Fonebak.com in exchange for money, you will need to tick the box indicating that you accept these terms and conditions. If you refuse to accept these terms and conditions, you will not be able to send us your device in exchange for money.
Things you need to know
- Our site is only intended for use by people registered with us and resident in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, accessing the site from within the UK.
- You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
- You are at least 18 years old; or have the permission of your parent or guardian to send us your phone for the money indicated on our website.
- You must own all rights, title and interests in any device that you send to us.
- You are responsible for cancelling any airtime contract linked to the device. We are not responsible for any call costs arising before or after receipt of your device.
- We use CheckMend which is a database of all devices that have been reported as lost, stolen or involved in criminal activity. If the device you send in appears on this database, it will be quarantined and the authorities will be notified.
- We pay for the postage when you send your phone to us via FREEPOST FONEBAK. However, we cannot be held responsible, nor pay for, any phones lost within the mail system. If you are sending us a high value handset, we recommend you send it to us via Royal Mail Registered post to:

RM20 3EE - If your mobile phone is lost in the post we can advise you on the best way to make a claim against the Royal Mail but we cannot guarantee that this will be successful.
- To guarantee the amount of money you receive for each device, you must send back your device(s) within 20 days from the date you registered the device on the Fonebak.com website.
- Cheques will be issued within seven (7) days of receipt of the device.
- Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms and conditions
What You Can Do For Us
Make sure your mobile phone:
- Belongs to you
- Turns on and is in a reasonable working condition (although we do offer a reduced value for non-working devices)
- Has its battery.
- Is not barred or water damaged.
- Is listed on our website. Any mobiles that are not listed on our website and are over 4 years old will be recycled responsibly but you will not receive any money for them. These mobile phones cannot be returned.
- Is the correct model. If we find that the model you registered on the Fonebak.com website is different from the device we receive then we will confirm the correct details with you via email to accept the revised offer. If we do not hear from you within 7 days from the date we sent you the email, we will automatically make this change and credit the appropriate monetary value to you based on the model we received.
- Has the SIM card, memory stick, memory card or other storage media removed.
- Is cleared of data (contacts, videos, pictures, messages, music, etc.) We will clear off any data on the device, but can not take responsibility for data left on handsets by you.
Determining the Value of your device
The price for working and non-working devices can be found on the Fonebak.com website.
The amount of money offered for damaged phones may be less than those listed on the site depending on its condition.
If the device is in a different condition than what was specified at the time of registration, we will contact you via email with a new offer. Where possible, we will always offer a value for a damaged mobile phone.
Every handset returned to fonebak.com will generate a minimum 10p donation to BBC Children in Need. If you choose to receive 100% of the value of your handset, Fonebak will still donate 10p to BBC Children in Need, and you will still receive 100% of the value quoted on the fonebak.com website. If the handset has a value of zero, we will still donate 10p to the Charity.
Data
Please ensure you remove your SIM card before sending us your mobile phone as SIM cards contain personal details. Fonebak and Regenersis will not accept liability if SIM cards are sent. SIM cards received will be securely destroyed. Please ensure you also remove your memory card before sending us your mobile phone. Unfortunately once we have received memory cards we are unable to return them and they will also be securely destroyed.
Although we will remove any data contained on the handset, it is highly recommended that you clear off all data on your handset, including contacts, SMS and picture messages, videos, music and any other data that may be personal to you. Fonebak and Regenersis can not be held responsible for data retained on handsets.
Monetary Value
All offers displayed on the Fonebak website are subject to change without notice. To guarantee the amount of money you receive for each device, you must send back your device(s) within 20 days from the date you registered the device on the Fonebak.com website.
When and How We Send You the Cash
Where possible we will issue a cheque within 7 working days from the day your mobile phone has been tested and confirmed to meet our terms and conditions. However, at busy times of the year we cannot guarantee payment within this period. Cheques will be sent to the account holder that was logged into the site when you registered to sell your handset in exchange for money. If you have requeted that the value of your device is donated to charity, payment to the charity will be made on a quarterly basis.
Returns
In the unlikely event that you change your mind after you have sent us your phone, please contact us on 01708 683432 or via email at info@fonebak.com, providing the reference number, make and model of your device. We charge an administration fee of £15 to return your device. Please note that the device may have been processed and therefore will return an equivalent device to you. Your data will have been removed from any device returned to you.
Damaged and Lost Handsets
We pay for the postage when you send your phone to us via FREEPOST FONEBAK. However, we cannot be held responsible, nor pay for, any phones lost within the mail system.

Fonebak and Regenersis do not take any responsibility for the loss or damage to mobile phones, accessories or electrical equipment before we receive it. We strongly recommend that all our customers protect their mobile phones with packaging to minimise the risk of damage. The FREEPOST envelope supplied by Fonebak does not guarantee that the mobile phone will be received in the same condition as when it was sent.
By sending your mobile phone to us you agree to release us from all and any claims, losses or damages with respect to the data stored or contained therein or on any media used in conjunction with the mobile phone.

The Information presented at this Site and contained on this Server is protected by a compilation copyright in the United Kingdom and in other countries. In addition, certain included Information is copyrighted by others. Copying, storing in machine-readable form, downloading, selling, publishing or otherwise disseminating the Information by the Viewer is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of Regenersis plc.
